.x. lyrics She remembers when she first got her wings And how she opened up that day she learned to sing Then the colors came, erased the black and white And her whole world changed when she realized
[Chorus:] She's a butterfly, pretty as the crimson sky Nothing's ever gonna bring her down And everywhere she goes Everybody knows she's so glad to be alive She's a butterfly
Like the purest light in a darkened world So much hope inside such a lovely girl You should see her fly, it's almost magical It makes you wanna cry, she's so beautiful
[Chorus]
God bless the butterfly, give her the strength to fly Never let her wings touch the ground God bless the butterfly, give her strength to fly Never let her wings touch the ground
[Chorus]
God bless the butterfly, give her the strength to fly Never let her wings touch the ground God bless the butterfly, give her the strength to fly Never let her wings touch the ground
Well, I can't believe it's finally finished. -wipes brow- No thanks to my friends who kept me from finishing it until now... -glares- Just kidding, just kidding. When I saw Nala's contest, and the themes, I just had to enter. It looked so awesome and the gears in my head were already turning on how I could create the image. Then when I found the horse's stock, I just took it from there. [[Trust me, you really don't want to see my original ideas. They are nothing like the actual turnout... xP]]
This image has LOADS of meaning in it, some of which I will tell you about. First off, there's the color scheme. The maroon-red color to the light greens/spring color represents someone very near and dear to me--my grandma, who just passed away from cancer. The advancing dark red shows the fall mentioned in the theme of the contest. The horse's wings are lax and almost pinned against its sides, which also represents those who have passed on. Angels have wings, and this pegasus has the wings of an angel. The rest of the symbolism I will leave you to interpret, because isn't that what art is all about? Interpretation, right?
Holy crap that is awesome And that is a lotttt of stock lmao how long did this take you? Definately you're best and I love all the symbolism. I'm sorry to hear baout your grandma

Thank you! I've been working on this since... Well, I don't exactly remember, but whenever the contest started, I started working on this. I've been working on and off ever since. And yeah, it is a lotta stock. I should've used more fire stock, but I was lazy, so the warp/liquify tool became my friend. n-n
but seriously now, love the colors of this. and the fire. very nice.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
